We live in GA among 100 acres of yellow pine trees.  Are pine needles toxic to goats or good/acceptable for them?

Goats can consume small amounts of pine needles without any harm but the needles are not a nutrient-rich food source. They can be harmful and cause digestive issues and abortions if they eat too much. As long as they have other food resources, the goats won’t preferentially eat the pine.

Really? I didn’t know pine was not too good for them. Mine LOVE it and will totally choose a pine tree over a full manger of wonderful, expensive alfalfa everyday. I try not to give them too much at once cause it can make the milk taste off. I thought maybe they were getting extra minerals or something from it that they were not getting from the alfalfa.

GOats think everything tastes better if it’s over their heads and not in a manger. LOL

Pine is fine if they don’t over do it. Also, don’t let them eat it while pregnant as it can cause miscarriages.
