StudentTopic AuthorHA HA HA Ann – this was taken last summer. There’s no snow on the ground here at this moment, but we’ve had it several times already with more to come! Cheer up, the winter just gives us time to rest a tad and dream of what we’ll plant come spring!

Homestead InstructorI was puttering in the woods and saw a really nice patch of horsetail (Equisetum). I told my wife we should dig some up and take it home. She said “Oh no you don’t. You can come out here and harvest that one. I’m having enough trouble managing all of your friends.”
We had about 150 medicinal species on our home place most of which were well-cultivated pernicious weeds that didn’t like to stay in their garden boxes. LOL

StudentTopic AuthorAnn, I had to laugh when you said you were trying to figure out how to explain to the neighbors all the burdock that is in barrels around your house! Hubby and I are just ornery enough (and distanced from the neighbors), that we wouldn’t care what they thought or wondered about. We don’t ask them why they do stuff, and they don’t ask us! We don’t have a fence because we’re far enough away not to need one, but the saying “good fences make good neighbors” is still true anyway! Dream on with the plants! I’m still trying to figure out the plants that offer hubby and I the best bang for the buck space wise as our garden is REALLY tiny!

StudentTopic AuthorYay! At least I know where to find some now next summer! I have SO little growing space that wildcrafting anything I can is a bonus so I have more room for what I CAN’T wildcraft. Thanks so much for your time as always 🙂
