        Hi everyone!

Do you ever get super excited when you notice something new growing on your property? I do! Today I was taking some trash out to the trashcan by the back door and step around the side of the house because this pretty purple flower caught my eye. I thought to myself, ” this looks very similar to something else I’ve seen but I can’t remember what…” I pulled out my phone and opened my I.D. app and sure enough, it’s a type of sage. I knew it looked familiar! It’s Lyreleaf Sage “Salvia lyrata” it goes by other names too like cancer weed, meadow or wild sage, pear leaf sage etc. I also found a really neat article about it that I thought I’d share as well. So here you go

Lyre Leaf Sage (wild) Bee friendly, Medicinal, and Historically significant herb.

I hope you enjoy reading it and let me know if you get excited about identifying new plants and their uses and history too. Probably wouldn’t be here if you didn’t,  am I right?

I also just found a ton of this growing out in our pasture. It was such a lovely wave of purple, I had to go see what it was. Doc – how does this compare to other nervines such as lemon balm, valerian, and holy basil as an adaptogen and anti-anxiety?

              Fun. :0)

There are lots of Salvia species. Some of them do very different things but they all seem to be good medicine.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
