        Hi all!

Recently, we got two kittens, brother and sister, to keep us company on our adventure. (We are right now living in a tent in the Caucasus, not much veterinary care here. If you are a dog or cat, you are usually left to fend for yourself.) By now, we are pretty much attached to them, and they are constantly near us.

Sadly, one of them doesn’t seem to develop normally. He has one eye that is differently colored (red-brown, where the other one is yellow), and enlarged. The people where he was born, told us it was much worse when he was just born. Sometimes it seems a little smaller, at other times it seems enlarged. There is no discharge or anything, only he seems to not have full vision with that one. Sometimes it seems a little cloudy (whitish).

He also has his hind legs placed different than his sisters. He is always crouching a little. I’m thinking a genetic issue.

So, right now he is still playing, fighting, eating and everything, the way a kitten should, but he just won’t grow. Also, his sister is way stronger and a great hunter by now, where he still plays like a baby. We do realize he probably has genetis issues and he will die eventually, but we figured it would do no harm to ask if someone has any idea. Maybe there is still something we can do? We don’t want to just give up on him!

Thanks for any input you may have!

        Esther

Ps. I wanted to include pictures, but couldn’t seem to add anything to this topic from my computer…

Hi Ester, It sounds like a genetic/developmental problem. If that’s the case, herbs aren’t likely to solve the problem.
If you email me a picture I’ll have a look and post it. :0)

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Yes, I guess that was the case… Anyway, nature has a way of dealing with the weak, we figured again… A few days after I posted this, a hunting dog paid us a nice little visit. As a thanks for the water we gave him, he killed our favourite kitten. Ooops. Well. No herbs could fix that, either. We gave the kids some camomille tea though. 😉

Good to know how it works with posting pictures! 🙂
