I read this and am wondering if any of you know if it is true.  So hard to know what is fact and what is myth on the web these days!

Please note that licorice root is contraindicated for hypertension. This formula (meadowsweet, calendula, marshmallow, and licorice combine to make a tea that is at once both cooling and soothing while also promoting good digestive action in the belly) may not be appropriate for those with uncontrolled high blood pressure. That being said, meadowsweet and calendula are both hypotensive, theoretically balancing out the licorice.

Hubby has some HBP, but it’s not “uncontrolled” as this article mentions, but still, I would rather know for sure that licorice root is ok for him.  If Doc mentions this, I’ve overlooked it somehow, so please forgive me.
