StudentI have a 70lb Bernese Mountain Dog who had a sudden liver failure. We took it into the vet and was given a high amount of fluids through an IV for 4 days. They also put her on Doxycycline, even though all test for disease came back negative. They told us to keep giving this to her for about two more weeks. This seems way to much for a shot in the dark. She has improved much, but wondering if the flush is more the reason. I want to start her on Doc’s liver formula, but I know you can’t combine herbs and many meds. I feel we need to start healing her liver as soon as possible, but the Doxcycline shows a problem. I don’t know anyone around me to ask about Herbs and meds and how they will react. The vet looked at me like I was crazy for even bringing up herbs. Do I still keep doing the meds? I really need some help.

StudentI have had the same issues. It has been difficult to get a diagnosis. My Golden Elsie will be 13 in July and I have been unable to find a holistic vet near me and that is why I joined the school. She is no longer on any meds, just herbs. I give her both Doc’s Liver Support and Kidney builder formulas. I make the pill balls that Doc suggests if they won’t eat it on their food. I definitely think it’s helping her. I’m learning so much from the school. In addition to liver and kidney disease I’m suspecting proteinuria and looking for an herb to help. Good luck to you!

StudentIm so sorry you are having troubles finding an Herbal DVM in your area also. seems to be a trend these days. Doc Jones has several videos in the lessons about the liver and how Milk thistle helped someone he knew that was literally going to be put on a transplant list, and nettle seeds as his emergency ER liver failure go to also. have you asked herbert? usually videos etc w that wording will pull up for you to click on the info or read the info. but the video should be in the liver videos in the lessons. Hope this helps and we will Pray for you and your canine. Many Blessings
