Making Pine Tincture

I just read Doc’s blog article about Covid and the beneficial effects of Pine Tincture, and I want to start a batch right away. I have a few questions:

Are any of the Pines preferable?

Are Spruce and Fir just as good as Pine? Would a mix of Pine, Spruce and Fir be even better?

If I’m using the simpler’s method and macerating the needles in alcohol, would Everclear be best for tincturing the fresh plant material?

Would tincturing for more than 2 weeks result in a stronger formula in this case, since the needles are so resinous?
