I have purchased 8 of Doc’s 4 oz each powdered formulas. I want to make tinctures using the ratio method with alcohol. What is the ratio & dosage for each? Memory & Alertness, Blood Pressure -L, Cholesterol, Pancreas-Blood Sugar, Histamine, Joint support, Muscles-NoMoSpazms, Bladder-INFXN. I am knew at this & just learning. Would sure appreciate some guidance. 😛 🙂 :yahoo:

After reading the posts you recommended, do you think if I used any of the 4 oz pkgs which weighs 120 grams and use 1:5 ratio. Would I use 600 grams of 100 proof vodka or 50% alcohol or 2 1/2 cups and mix together? Would this work for all of Doc s formulas that I previously listed? I am almost 72 and my math skills aren t as sharp now. Thanks for answering my post. :yahoo:

For a 1:5 ratio tincture add 1 gram of dried herb to 5 cc vodka. So…

              4 ounces = 113 grams

              113 X 5 = 565

So add 565 ml which is 2.4 cups. So, yeah, if you added 2.5 cups of vodka to your 4 ounce powder it’d be close enough and lots easier to measure. 🙂

Let is sit two weeks and shake it every day.

Dosing for adults on a tincture is usually 20-30 drops 2-3 times daily.

Holler if you have other questions.
