StudentHi there. my mom suffers from chronic migraines, and doctors have no explanation for why she gets them, we do know that high stress can trigger one but there are ones that come out of now were. The only thing that helps is sumatriptans shots. Which she gets side effects from. We are trying to find a herbal remedy that could help. Ginger does work a little if caught early enough but other than that nothing seems to work. We have tried the head ake tincture with no luck.
Any suggestions?-

StudentHello Annabelle,
I’ve heard that wild Clematis and lemon Balm is good for migraines. I believe Doctor Jones has a lesson on headaches and migraines called : Pain Management III: Specific Interventions (I highly recommend looking at). I also have found that if I mix a carrier oil (like jojoba) with some peppermint and Lavender oil that it seems to relieve the pain and help the headache go away. Doctor Jones also talks about Melatonin supplements, Magnesium, and B2 vitamins that can help.
I hope you can find the answers for your mother and that her migraines will go away !

StudentHi Annabelle,
Your mom may benefit from taking a homeopathic remedy to help with her migraines. There are hundreds to choose from so she may have to try several different homeopathic remedies before she gets the correct one! I have found that taking 1/8 of a teaspoon of Himalayan salt dissolved under the tongue followed by 3 cups of water can also help get rid of headaches. I also like to use acupressure points to help dull the pain. Taking the herb feverfew is also recommend but this herb must be taking for several months before you will notice a difference in symptoms. However, it has been a proven remedy for headaches when taking long term faithfully!
I hope your mom finds some natural relief!

StudentHello!
I have a neighbor who has suffered from migraines all her life. She says she has tried everything. Can someone help me understand why the salt would work and its function. She said she tried feverfew but it didn’t work but I bet she never used it for several months and who knows what kind of quality she had. thank you for any info you can give me, thanks!

StudentI have had migraines my whole like. They did get better with menopause but then started getting worse. Pre-menopause was from the hormone shifts. I found that post-menopause, my migraines were from histamine. They got better with antihistamines and avoiding high histamine foods. I found that chocolate gives me a migraine but cacao doesn’t. After some research, I found that chocolate is fermented = high histamine, while cacao is not fermented. I have come up with something that can help my migraine but I have to start it before the headaches get rolling. If the migraine is full-blown, nothing helps. My Trifecta is, SawLogs(which is Ca poppy, passionflower, and valerian mix) tincture, a shot of espresso, and Aleve or Advil. I don’t like using the NSAIDS but I cannot function while the migraine is going. I hope this at least gives you some direction to look to and maybe some relief.
