        An older woman told me some fun facts while walking in a prairie. Did you know that plants in the mint family such as Bergamot  or Bee’s Balm have square stems? How cool 🙂

          That’s actually a trait of the mint family! Square stems and leaves that grow …(see clarifying edit below – Doc Jones)

          (Edit by Doc Jones: Mint family leaves grow in pairs at 90 degree angles from each other. So, two going north and south, then two going east and west etc…)  :0)

                  There is a great little book called Botany in a Day  by Thomas Elpel that has good family characteristics for plants.

                  Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
