If needing a 1:5 ratio of Myrrh for a throat spray (with other added tincture ingredients) Would the myrrh tincture in the herb shop suffice?  Normally the tinctures are a 1:5 ratio.  But if I am remembering correctly, Myrrh is resinous and needing different handling.  ie: everclear.  I will look again in the course program for Myrrh and how it might else be different.

There is also Myrrh oil offered in the shop.

A myrrh tincture is still made with a 1:5 ratio resin to liquid. Everclear is just a stronger percentage of alcohol to water to dissolve the resin.  The ratios in your compounded throat spray recipe are not affected by this.

Hi Dee,  Thank you.  I was making things more difficult for myself then they needed to be.  Thought it couldnt be this easy. (To use what was in the herb shop) Figured I would have to make some kind of a change somewhere.  I am elated that I can just order the Myrrh resin tincture and it will be fine.  Going by an old recipe that was dismissed a long time ago. Thank you again, Jean
