StudentSorry for the rush, I always seem to think of these things at the last moment! Anyway a friend who is about 2 hours away from us is having hand surgery (I believe it’s carpel tunnel, but could be wrong on that part). I have mentioned Comfrey soaks, but thought before I rush him some dried leaves, that I should double check to make sure that this type of healing will be good, without any potential issues. He isn’t a herb fan – YET! But I’m counting on him realizing how good God’s medicine is if it heals him up like I believe it will. I would love to have DOC weigh in on any potential effects. I was thinking a handful of dried leaves (no fresh available, it’s still winter like here in Colorado) in a bowl of very hot water, cover and let it cool, then soak his hand/wrist in it about 20 minutes 3 times a day. Also, how long after the surgery should he wait before starting “treatment”? Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

StudentI know that you have to be careful in using comfrey with an incision, in case the outer layer of flesh heals quickly and seals off any infection that can be underneath.

StudentTopic AuthorOh Laura, I did forget about the fresh incision from the surgery. So should he just wait, or use something else to help the incision first, THEN switch to comfrey? Thanks, I had a brain fart on the incision!

StudentTopic AuthorOn a slightly different note, I once healed up my cat’s ripped out stitches/bloody area that he keep messing with using just a very strong green tea soak for the area. It healed it up really fast and well. Wondering if that would work for the incision stage for our friend’s hand/wrist.
