After several years of trying I have successfully started my herb garden!  It’s a mixture of culinary, medicinals and just there to be pretty!  We’ve already drawn in butterflies , bees and hummingbirds!  Not to learn what to do with it all!

Congratulations Susan, how exciting! I hope you’re thoroughly enjoying all of the benefits of having your herb garden, including watching the butterflies, bees and hummingbirds in your herb garden. 🙂 That’s one of my favorite things to do.

That’s exciting. I am planning mine in the wilds of Tasmania. I have to fence it securely or it’ll be eaten by wallabies and possums

How exciting!  Gardening is my passion and I’m also here to learn to use all these wonderful and powerful plants.  What plants are you growing?  What’s your climate?  Happy growing.

I am planning for a new herb garden area in Eastern North Carolina!!! I have worked with & grown a number of herbs through the years but in the North Eastern USA states.  We have switched around things & are now full time in Eastern North Carolina – Zone 8A – So these last 2+ years have been a real learning experience, almost “Starting Over” getting a better feel for what plants & varieties of veggies & fruits grow well here.  Now I am ready for my Herb Garden to be established!! This is all very exciting – I love being enrolled in the Homestead Academy & having access to all the teaching courses & all of you wonderful people on this forum to get to know & share experiences & ideas with!  I look forward to the ongoing interaction.  Thank you, in advance, for all those willing to share what you have learned on your own journey using & growing your own veggies, fruits & herbs.  I am especially interested in learning about what thrives here in Eastern NC!!! Although I am a very experienced gardener & food preserver, I feel a bit overwhelmed doing all this in a radically different Zone!!! Our weather, temperatures, rain fall, sun intensity, pests, pollinators & predator’s are quite different from my previous experience.  Blessings to all!! 🙂 😛 😎 😉

Seeing the butterflies and the humming birds is just as rewarding as the herbs, gotta get stated on an herb garden myself, been wanting wanting to do it for a while but I’ve put it off for long enough.
