Hello! Finally getting started-  my garden is glad hurricane season is over. Looking for some advice on what herbs/flowers to plant in November in central Florida, if anyone has any experience. Just transplanted Mullein, White Sage and an Echinacea hybrid from a Big Box store. I want to start some Echinacea seeds and some Boneset (Eupatorium). Thanks!

Welcome to the school and forum Danette! If I were starting fresh I would definitely plant some Calendula and Comfrey, I’m not sure what the climate is for you (I’m on the opposite side of the US haha), but those two would be priorities for me.

Thank you! I totally forgot – I do have comfrey – the non-invasive kind that Doc Jones recommended. I did successfully kill my calendula (sadness), but I did save the seeds. So, I will try again. I bought some Florida natives (Pentas, Beautyberry, Aquatic Milkweed and Coreopsis) because they’re so pretty and the pollinators like them.  I’ll look up their medicinal values. They say Beautyberry is good for mosquito repellant.  Thank you for the encouragement.

                Hi Danette,

New student myself, I live in Cocoa and exited to see others from my area.  I just had 2 of my Echinacea plants boom that was exciting for me and my Nasturtium is coming back it seems to love the cooler months here cant wait for it to go crazy again this year.   Good luck with your garden.

                Helen 🙂
