        Hey Y’all,

My name is Shannon. I gifted myself this amazing course of studies. I am beyond excited to extend my knowledge, understanding and experiences of Herbalism. Thrilled!!!!!!!!!!! I may be jumping the gun here, but I do have a quick question: I need to know which herb will be best to tincture for a snake bite. No, I haven’t been bitten by a snake, but I am preparing our Bug Out bags, and I would like to include a couple bottles of this in each bag. I recently moved from Atlanta, Ga to the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. They have Rattle snakes here!!! Amongst other venomous snakes.  And beautiful trails and waterfalls. I’m afraid to explore.  Any insight or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I don’t have an answer for your question, but I would love to know what you are including in your Bug Out Bags if you don’t mind sharing. I lead a group of children in outdoor activities and also live in rattlesnake territory. Following along to see what others may recommend for snake bites as well.

              Hi Kristie,

Right now, they’re fairly basic. E blankets/ sleeping bags.  Waste straws, I ordered Survival kit from Amazon.  It came with several useful tools.  MRE foods. Water purifiers… I’m just getting getting started. When you order your bag, make sure you get at least 100L.

You’ll want to check out Doc’s Venom and Sting Tincture

                  Venom & Sting Tincture

If you absolutely needed something immediately, look for Plantain. If you were out and got bit, take the plantain and chew it, then put it on the wound and bandage it, then start taking the plantain internally too

Yup. Greg is right. Have a look at this lesson for what I do specifically with those cases (I’ve done lots of them).

                              Hi Corrine,

I’d start with the General Herbalism section. After that you can proceed in any order you like. There is a place at the bottom of each lesson where questions can be asked about specific lessons. :0)

I just tried making my first post after watching Kitchen Medicine: Amazing Herbal Remedies In Your Spice DrawerAt the bottom of the lesson I attempted to create a topic titled Fennel Eye Wash where I was asking about using the strained, cooled fennel tea as an eye drop for cats.  I received an error message asking me if I wanted to do that (make the post I guess).  I believe the post failed.  I am not sure what I did incorrectly.  😕

I’ve had this happen too and I don’t know why. I would post this in the Bug Reporting area
