StudentHi, How do I give catnip for colic to my 8 day old? what is the Dosing and how should I administer as I breastfeeding?
I did look at all the old posts, as I’ve spent the last few hours on here looking for info.
However- I wanted to clarify with Doc about the specifics of making and how to give the tea as that info is not on here found.
There is a recipe from 2014 from a user comfrey about making a catnip, peppermint, chamomile, fennel tea yourself I just made. Waiting for results.
Tips appreciated, thanks in advance!
I know they say the 2nd

Homestead InstructorTwo ways to get catnip into lil people:
Make a tea and give it to him with an eyedropper.
Take it yourself, it seems to go through the milk as well. Lots of moms have reported to me that their lil bellyachers are happier when mom is taking catnip.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

StudentMy baby is 8 weeks old, is often grumpy and poops about every other day. I feel more comfortable drinking a tea to be passed through my milk than giving him herbs directly. Would a catnip (only)tea be recommended or the tummy tea blend?

StudentWith my clients, they give it to baby as often as needed… usually when nursing. And I love that baby benefits when mom takes it. This is helpful if you have a nervous client.

StudentTopic AuthorI ended up just making a tea with about a teaspoon of chamomile, fennel and catnip and I honestly do think it worked!
I never did make a tea to give to them myself but I am not opposed to it.. at the time I felt more comfortable with drinking the tea myself.2 users thanked author for this post.

StudentI am wondering how the tea worked for a breastfed baby with colic. If you can post if that worked that would be great!
