Couple questions:
Question #1
The herbalists Susan Weed talks about making nutritional herbal infusions. Most are familiar with making teas with a small amount of herbs with a short steeping time, but She teaches there are some herbs you can make herbal infusions with large amounts of herbs for an extended steeping time (to draw everything out of the herb). There are 7-8 herbs she recomends doing this with:
Nettles, Alfalfa, oat straw, Raspbery Leaves, Burdock Root, Red Clover, Mullein and there are a few others
SO she recommends
2 (28 grams) cups of dry herb or root in a quart of water, put in a crock pot or thermos for up to 8 hours. Drink every day throughout the day.
Your thoughts??
Question # 2
My daughter is a competetive swimmer- the team she is on is quite intense and she is ALWAYS tired from swimming so much.
I found an herbal recipe called athletes tea that I thought would help her recover better after long workouts and help her have more strength and energy while swimming both mentally and physically. She took it for awhile just fine but the lst few timnes she has taken it she has thrown up 6-7 times afterwards. The first two times I thought it was just coincidence, but she took it last night and threw up a ton!! YIKES!! would she be allergic to something in it or is there something else going on I might not be aware of like the herbs reacting together or with each other? P.S. My son takes it almost everyday and lOVES it.
Here is the recipe:
1 part ashwaganda
1 part dandelion root
.5 eleuthero
.5 peppermint
.5 skullcap
.5 nettle
.5 got kola
.25 licorice root

Nothing wrong with those herbs as nutritives.

There’s obviously something in there she doesn’t like. Try our https://homegrownherbalist.net/products/nutritive-formula formula and see how she does.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

I think aroma science is superior because you get direct access to the limbic system of the brain and through vapours entering the lungs, absorption into the bloodstream.
Many people have digestive tracts that are damaged or malfunctioning. Such people must take nutrients in easy to digest semi liquid form.
Licorice is not meant to be consumed daily over long-term. See:
Are you sure your daughter is not pregnant. Pregnancy and herbal therapy is dangerous because so many herbs are abortifacient like peppermint.
Try my recipe for energy. I call it TC for tea and coffee:
TC: Tea and Coffee: Stay awake: 14 herbs, 50g matcha, 50g coffee, 8g X 12 herbs in 500 ml EVOO, 500 ml VCO, 180g beeswax. Snort a little through each nostril in the mornings and whenever needed.
Astragalus, black pepper, coffee, **(eucalyptus), (ginkgo), gotu kola, **lemon peel, matcha, orange peel, *peppermint, plantain, rosemary, slippery elm, thyme.
I dissolve the beeswax in the oils. Heat oils slowly on low heat. Keep temp below 100 Celsius. I weigh out the herbs. I pour hot oil onto herbs in a big pot, cover and lit sit for 5 minutes. Then I pour mixture into a blender and liquefy for 40+ minutes.
I pour mixture into containers and let it solidify when cool. Then I close the containers. Herbal salves must be kept out of sunlight and sources of heat. Beware matcha is so expensive! 🙂

EVOO = extra virgin olive oil (Gallo)
VCO = virgin coconut oil (Grace, cold pressed)

For your daughter, I recommend fish oil capsules of wild Alaskan salmon or walmart has these triple strength omega 3 capsules. Also, a good multivitamin like One A Day for women. I also take the Jamieson biotin gummies to prevent hair loss.
Vitamins are never a replacement for a healthy diet.
Hope this helps AWS

I appreciate this thread because I too have a swimmer that spends 4 hours in the pool a day working out like crazy. He is loosing hair and I worry he is doing permanent damage to his body. I mixed up some herbs that I thought would be good and he drinks them during intense times. I have been using: Ashwaganda, eleurthro root, licorice root, Echinacea, cleavers, and plantain. I will add some herbs from your formula as well. I can see it is more nutritive.
