StudentWelcome Julia. I am also an old nurse and relatively new to herbalism. I have successfully treated plantar fasciitis on myself using different herbal powders in a foot soak, used the bleeding powder (from the herbal wound kit) to stop bleeding when my son cut his finger, and used the bleeding tincture when my dog lost a molar and it would not stop bleeding. Also used the tooth abzess tincture formula for tooth pain after dental work. Currently I am trying to grow some of my own herbs. Starting with seeds for Giant Plantain. But gardening is a whole new learning experience. Wish I could buy some herbal plants, but the nurseries in my area only have cooking herbs. So hopefully I will be successful starting with seeds. Once you get started it is so much fun and really helpful for your family.

StudentNice to see some other old nurses here. Nancy, I started my herb garden from seeds last year. It was a bit more complicated than your usual veggies. Some were easy and fast germinators that grow anywhere and everywhere. But with others who thought weeds could be so picky about soil conditions and time of year planted. Some took 3 and 4 months to germinate even though they said 3 wks on the seed packets. Some didn’t come up at all as they liked to be planted in the fall instead of spring. There is a learning curve for sure.
