StudentSoooo, I was just tincturing away one day and tinctured my nutritive formula. Since the alcohol does not pull out the vitamins and minerals, what use does the tincture even have? Is it garbage?

StudentTopic AuthorYes I am as well, especially bc Doc sells the nutritive tincture, so I feel I don’t have to throw it out! Maybe

StudentI asked a similar question here: Herbs you shouldn’t tincture? – Homestead Academy I’d love to know which herbs/formulas I shouldn’t tincture. I have some strong bones powder that I’m waiting to know what to do with. There is a tincture version of that on the website, so I’m assuming it’s okay, but is it optimal? That’s what I don’t know.

StudentTopic AuthorCurious if anyone has found any answers on these questions. My nutritive formula is just hanging out in my cabinet and I’m wondering if I should just order another formula and make sure not to tincture it this time.

StudentPersonally, I would keep and use the tincture you made – it has to have some good “tonic like” properties as a tincture, BUT I would also get another formula and keep it as powder to use as the intended purpose. Don’t feel bad – we have ALL tinctured something that later we scratch our head and wonder why in the world we made that!

Homestead InstructorThe tincture will be of some benefit nutritionally but not as good as the powder. It will also be good for anything medicinal that those herbs do, so there’s that. It’d be good for eczema or psoriasis, liver issues, kidney and bladder stuff, etc… :0)
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
