One of the key components of oregano is carvacrol, a phenolic compound that has has demonstrated antiparasitic activity against different types of parasites, including worms. It may disrupt the integrity of the parasite’s cell membranes, leading to the death of the critter.
It also has other compounds like thymol, rosmarinic acid, and terpenes which have antiparasitic effects. These compounds may interfere with the metabolic processes or reproductive systems of parasites, inhibiting their growth or causing their elimination.
Oregano has shown effects against nematodes (round worms), cestodes (tapeworms) and trematodes (flukes). As far as I know it hasn’t been tested against regular toads…or frogs. Wait, never mind, those are toads not todes. :0?
