I had heard a lot of people rave about oregano oil and how well it works for all sorts of different illnesses. Are they talking about the essential oil? Or how does one make oregano oil? Could a tincture be made and be just as effective?

I love oregano oil. I powder the oregano, put in a jar, cover it with a good olive oil and you can put it in a warm place and shake it everyday for 6 to 8 weeks. Or do it the “quick” way. Put it in a crock pot on low (make sure you put something in the bottom so the jar doesn’t touch the pot), you don’t want to fry the herbs, just gentle heat them and shake it about every hour for 5 or 6 hours and your done, strain and go. I use a presto food warmer instead of a crock pot. It’s small and only fits 1 pint jar, but it’s so quick it doesn’t matter.

Oil of Oregano is terrific to use for when you feel like you are about to get sick ! It works wonderful and really wards off any nasty colds or flus.

YES!  It’s also great for bacterial or fungal nail infection. My brother got a really bad case of athlete’s foot that wasn’t responding to prescription medication. I told him to try it, I mean at that point what was it going to hurt. 2 days later it was gone and he hasn’t had any signs of it returning.
