Does anyone have any suggestions or herbal remedies to help with pancreatitis symptoms in a miniature schnauzer?

        Thanks
        Amanda

In acute cases with fever, I use these three:

Digestive support (the powder is best)

          INFXN BugBuster

Dandelion leaf (a specific for pancreas protection)

Have look at the pancreas module. We talk about it there as well.

I’ve noticed that dogs that have a case of pancreatitis are more prone to doing it again. So keep the diet predictable (big offerings of leftovers are a primary trigger). Some of them benefit a lot for some good digestive herbs like marshmallow and chamomile. I use the Digestive Support formula as the easy button for keeping guts happy in dogs (or humans) with sensitive guts or a predisposition to pancreatitis.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

I ended up giving marshmallow and ginger and that really soothed her symptoms. Good to know for future flares.

I have just started my learning and have been reading posts.  I have a 15 year old Maltipoo who has been diagnosed with chronic Pancreatitis.  We have weekly episodes of him having pain, not eating, diarrhea, etc.  after reading the information on pancreatitis in dogs

To date we have just been told to give him antacids and have a supply of a pain med for his flare ups.

After reading this post I feel we may have a better way to help him moving forward. This new knowledge has made me thankful I found Dr Jones via YouTube and that I had the good sense to begin my learning journey on using herbs to support health in both both my animal and human family.
