StudentHello, I am new to the forum and class, but excited to begin learning. Will it be possible to upload images of plants to queries about plant identification in the forum? Thank you in advance for your advice.

StudentYes and no. You can’t “directly” upload images, but you can use a photo storing site and use the link in the post. There’s a special part of the forum for plant ID’s. <a href="(REDACTED By Auto-Moderator Robot) Identification
They ID’ed one of my mystery plants quickly so hopefully you’ll have the same results!

StudentAnd if you haven’t tried it already, Google has an app called Lens. You take pictures with your phone camera. Then open Lens, and Lens will access your camera roll. You click on the picture you want to identify, and Lens will offer two or three suggestions of what it may be. It helps if you take several pictures, several different plants of the same species, so Lens has more to work with. You’ll still need to do some more research, but that will give you some good ideas to work with.

Homestead InstructorAs Sharon said, If you can upload the photo to Google Drive or some such and then put in a link that’s how to do it.
Otherwise, the phone app PictureThis is the best one I’ve seen for plant identifications.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

StudentTopic AuthorThis post will hopefully upload to my Google Drive. I have included two images of my first attempt at a tincture: (1) Mahonia root and the (2) new tincture. Please let me know if the images are visible to you.
Method: Peeled the tough bark off the roots and chopped them into small pieces. Tough! Dried before chopping into a powder in a Vitamix with the dry chop blade used for nuts and flours. Weighed powder in grams and added 5x amount in ml of 100 proof vodka to small canning jar.
Again please let me know if you can see a link. Thanks to all in advance!
