        My MIL made a syrup with a 50:50 ratio of honey and olive oil then she used the mixture to cover green pine cones. In the past we have made it with just honey. When I asked her why the oil, she couldn’t explain and just said that was the recipe. Any ideas what the purpose of the olive oil is? It doesn’t taste bad but is kind of thick and strong pine without the sweetness.
