Are there any herbal interventions or ways to support someone with pinkeye?  Thanks!

          Hi Jodie,

I was just reading about this in the Black-Eyed Susan monograph (Individual Plants – Monographs & Videos) – “The strained tea makes a good eye wash for conjunctivitis.”

Thanks to both of you!  It seems that everyone around here is suffering from pinkeye.  Kind of makes you wonder what is in that smoke…..

I had pink eye a little bit ago and added echinacea topically. I did keep applying it after it left (early, often, and after)! My family all had pink eye for about two weeks but since I used echinacea tincture I had it for barely one day.

Crazy thing happened to me with a bout of pink eye. I went to the Dr. for a sore throat and pink eye. Although strep test and throat culture were negative, she told me to take a strong antibiotic and antibiotic eye drops for 10 days. So I went home and made a calendula rinse for my eyes and did not take the prescribed antibiotics. My eyes cleared up in three days and sore throat was going away. That infection was viral and would have gone away without antibiotics.

Love this!  So tired of doctors who prescribe antibiotics for viral issues.  Did you just make a regular tea?  How often did you apply?  I am having some aging eye issues,  but struggled with pink eye/conjuntivitis frequently growing up.  Now it’s vitreous blobs and stress making my vision strange…perhaps a rinse every now and then would help relieve what is stressing them so badly.  Love this forum and all the ideas!
