I found a poisonous look a like to lambs quarters. It is called deadly nightshade or blackberry nightshade.

Lambs Quarters has leaves coming off north and south like mint. It’s stalk is smooth and hairless. The veins on the leaves are not super noticeable.

Deadly Nightshade has leaves coming off in a circular pattern,  looks very much like how a tomato plants leaves and flowers grow. The stem is fuzzy. The leaf veins are very noticeable,  either whitish or thicker like plantain.

Glad we checked. They were growing right next to eah other. looked similar enough I almost ate some. Then decided to double check with my Picture This App.

Leaf structure and position/orientation and flower structure are really consistent tools for identifying plants.

The PictureThis app is really good. I’ve been testing it for several years and it’s rarely wrong. And, when it is, it gives pictures of what it thinks it is and those pictures make it easy to compare what you’re looking at.
