StudentHi there,
Hubby has what looks like an abscess on his leg, that I have been trying to draw with a plantain poultice for the last 24 hours, maybe a bit longer. Also have used diluted tea tree oil. It is quite hard about 2cm diameter. Doesn’t seem to be doing anything…not getting worse or better. Does anyone have any ideas of what else I could do? Am going to try a heat compress with brewing some chamomile and plantain. But thinking we should see the dr and get some antibiotics (which we usually try hard to avoid!) I was going to try to add the photo here, but I don’t know how to do that in this forum!

StudentId add ground flax seed to help draw out infection.
Not sure what you have on hand but calendula, oregeno, maybe raw garlic, echinacea would be really good as well for antibacterial
and also taking plaintain internally would be really beneficial as well

StudentTopic AuthorThank you – yes I’ve been brewing echinacea, plantain, calendula, chamomile, and using that to soak gauze for warm compresses, and also he is taking internally. Last night tried bentonite clay poultice, have yet to look at it this morning…

StudentA shredded potato poultice is what I would use. Potato is good at drawing out the infection. I hope he gets some relief soon.

StudentMy daughter had some dental work done about a week ago. She ended up having to have two fillings redone because they were done poorly and were still hurting. Anyway she had been sick the week before this, so her immune system must have been low. About four days after her filling she started to get pain in her neck and jaw and up toward her eye. Not what she wanted for Christmas Eve!! She checked her mouth and the gums behind her back molar where the filling was done were starting to be red and infected. We made a potato poultice with finely grated potato and some clove powder. (I would like to have used clove oil but I did’t have any.) We cut a small strip off of a coffee filter and put the potato and clove mixture on that and rolled it like a mini cigar. She put that in the back of her mouth by the offending tooth on the gums that were red. She seemed to have a bit of relief quite quickly. The next day she did the same once or twice more. The pain disappeared and the gums are not red anymore. So thankful for the quick relief she got as going to the doctor on Christmas would have been a crazy time. We learned about the potato and clove from a one day home remedy class we took a couple months ago but we didn’t think we would need it so soon!!
