Hello, I have been washing out all my brown bottles and glass droppers with warm soapy water. Then, boiling them in my pot for 10 minutes to prepare them for bottling my tinctures. Is that all necessary? I want to maximize shelf life and keep my family “safe” but it does create a barrier to getting things tinctured.

If you’re making tinctures with vodka you just need to wash the bottles with soap and water. Alcohol is a very effective sterilant. Any bug that could live in vodka deserves to kill you. :0)

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

lol, Thank Doc. I figured I was overthinking it … and wondered if I might even destroy the amber bottles and glass eyedroppers.
