My husband used to be on medicine for enlarged prostate, which was projected to be a medication for life.  He started taking a tablespoon of bee pollen and cheapo Saw Palmetto capsules from the grocery store.  Within months, he was able to eliminate his medication and maintain fine urine flow & less visits all night to the toilet.  Fantastic!  Now, I bought bagged/dried Saw Palmetto berries and want to tincture them.  After watching several instructional videos, I still have question as to the amount of tincture he should ingest daily.  Also, do I have to strain it if it was powdered berries? (My logic is that it’s ok for him to have the chunky tincture.)

No reason to strain it if you don’t want to. Tincture dose of a single herb for an adult would be about 1/4-1/2 teaspoon 2-3 times daily.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
