Do you know the root cause of the inflammation? To treat it effectively, you really need to know the source of the problem.

Have you seen a physician or dentist? If not I highly recommend it before grappling around in the dark with herbs.

*But gargling with yarrow might offer some relief until you can get an appointment. Just don’t rely on it long term. You really need to find the root cause of the trouble, and only a doctor can help you do that.

Yarrow root (confirmed) and Cattail (unconfirmed but see my post on this) can provide relief from mucus membrane pain, but not from the inflammation.

I would look into an astringent, like garden sage, to help with the inflammation part.

Marshmallow is very soothing. If you suspect a bug, add some calendula and echinacea. Make a tea and swish it around in your mouth frequently.

If this is a chronic situation and the above doesn’t change your life, maybe a personal consultation would help us dig a little deeper and find some answers.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
