        I have a torn meniscus and moderate arthritis in one of my knees.  Unless I change my mind, I am scheduled for a PRP injection next week.

        @Dr. Patrick Jones

        I am wondering if there are herbs (either topically or orally) that I could use in conjunction with the PRP that might be helpful.  Are there any that would be contraindicated?

        NSAIDS are definitely out.  But I have seen some references stating that other things that are blood thinning are okay like turmeric for example.

        If NSAIDS  are out does that rule out white willow bark?

        ETA:  Also wondering about using the Rezzimax which I have.

        Any thoughts you have on this would be appreciated!

          Hi, I’d be curious to hear the results if you had the prp treatment. For herbal support, goldenseal has a reputation for “sealing” meniscus and bursa issues, maybe try it as an external spray.   Doc has a bone, tissue, cartilage formulation that could also be sprayed on the knee for healing with hops for pain.

            Good advice.

            Some Joint support internally and some comfrey tincture topically will be good additions as well.

            Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

              Thank you both.

              I did the PRP on July 3.  My first few days after were very painful!  As time has passed it got better every day and is much better than before I had it.

              I’m likely going to do one more treatment.  I’m just now beginning to use some herbs and will report back with results.
