StudentMy brother has Psoriasis. I want to give him some burdock root to see if that would help. He only has one quarter sized patch on his elbow and it hasn’t progressed in over a year since he’s had it so I hope this will clear him up quickly.
Would putting the powder in a capsule hinder the medicine. He is more likely to take that way. Otherwise, I was just going to have him mix it with some water and drink it, Doc Jones style, to make sure the herbs are effective.
Also, when he got this diagnosed by a doctor, the Doctor said it was an autoimmune disease. But Doc Jones said it was a grumpy liver. When I tried looking up psoriasis nobody mentioned the liver . . . so which is it????

StudentI agree with Dr. Jones and the other doctor. Often times the liver gets grumpy from poor nutrition or other issues that cause this grumpiness. This grumpiness, in turn, causes our own body to attack itself (auto-immune diseases), {this is putting it very simply}. Burdock root powder could go in a capsule and it’s effectiveness would be perfectly the same as drinking the powder with water, but definitely more palatable. I am a nurse, so I understand allopathic medicine, but I also understand the limitations of this. I believe that we can heal our bodies with proper nutrition and herbs. I have used calendula topically to cure the outward display of psoriasis (skin plaques), very effectively. (I made a cream out of calendula infused avocado oil). So, calendula is another option. It wouldn’t hurt to clean up nutrition, as well. Eating nutrient rich foods, REAL food vs. processed food, is also another step towards a healthier you, so that your body can actually heal itself instead of being GRUMPY. I know this was long, but I hope it’s helpful.

StudentTopic AuthorYes, very helpful. What is allopathic medicine? Okay, that makes sense, the immune system turning on itself and pushing toxins through the skin!
I dried calendula last year so I can make a an infused oil to turn into a lotion.
Thank you for the detailed response, I appreciate the length!!!!

StudentAllopathic medicine is just the medicine American’s are used to. When you go to a doctor or hospital, you’re being treated by doctors that were taught allopathic medicine. Vs herbal, homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Chinese medicine practices.
