Hello everyone! I was just looking at the Save Yer Skin formula (Calendula, Chickweed, Comfrey, Marshmallow Root) and I got to thinking that it’s very similar to the herbs used in the Wound Lotion I made (from the kit!) and have on hand. It has Calendula, Comfrey, Marshmallow Root, and Chamomile in it. I think this would still be a great diaper rash ointment.

My question is…I added a bit of lavender essential oil to the Wound Lotion for the scent. Would this be a bad idea to use on a little someone’s sensitive skin?

I don’t have all the needed herbs on hand for the Save Yer Skin, but I do have Calendula blooming and I’ve read that a simple infused oil of Calendula is also helpful for diaper rash. Would that be a better option?

Thank you so much for your help!

I would think the lavender would be a good addition. Before you try it for a diaper rash, try it first on the back of their hand or other visible spot to see if it causes any reactions.

              I agree with this response.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

I made a diaper balm for my son a few years ago and it has lavender in it. He never really got a rash and when he was irritated some, I used it and it went away fast.
