In my ever going search to find a good use of a plant that I must have over 500 of on our property – I found this article giving me some hope that there is actually a good use for this plant that is more prevalent on our couple of acres than all of the properties around and near us.  So it must be that we are SUPPOSED to use this for something since I seem to be “blessed” with a zillion of them (and the roots go to either China or Australia – so I won’t be using the roots!).  It mentions that it’s not water soluble, but I didn’t see a mention of alcohol.  I would appreciate other’s thoughts on this plant and some of it’s uses. Linky poo:  houseofaromatics. com/rabbit-brush-plant-profile/ (remove space before “com”).

I am seriously allergic to rabbit brush.  I wonder if I could use it homeopathically before it blooms to help my body not react so strongly to it.  Probably a tea or alcohol tincture would work, but I would be careful about the alcohol extracting unknown constituents that might be harmful.  If all else fails, you could build a world class sweat lodge!

Laura – you know that homeopathic stuff is entirely a horse of a different color so to speak.  If I recall the “general” gist of making homeopathic products, it’s something like putting ONE drop of the material into a gallon jar, mix well, take one drop of that in another gallon jar, and keep doing this for some unknown number of times.  It’s interesting to me, but for the life of me, I fail to see how it could have any medicine or power left.  But that’s not something I choose to delve into – I can’t even keep up with doing my class work here like I want to!  But I sure want to know (perhaps Doc Jones could chime in here?) if Rabbit Brush can be beneficial!
