Renee and I spent a couple of days (Thurs and Fri) at Rabbitstick last week. WE HAD A BLAST. Except I brought home a banged up kneww. 😥 Trying to figure out what will help it along.

In addition to the common sense remedy of Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation, a warm compress of arnica, anise, and cayenne might do wonders for the pain. Alternate the warm compress with an ice pack every 20 minutes.

I tried the cold and that just made it stiffen up and make the pain considerably worse. The rest (which I did not do yesterday!) and compression have helped a lot. Willow for the radiating pain sure helped the energy drain a lot. I don’t want the pain to go away since that is my reminder to do the REST part!

Sometimes you have to just do what works, knowing everyone is different. 🙂 Some common first aid advice recommends warm packs for the first 24 hours, then go to ice after that. Some recommend alternating. Whatever you do, there are two rules regarding ice:1) do not leave on for more than 20 minutes at a time, and 2) never apply an ice pack directly to bare skin. Always wrap it in a towel, because you can get frost bite that way.

I hope you recover soon! 🙂
