We have a sweet, skittish little medium-hair kitty we adopted from a shelter a couple years ago, living the strictly indoor pampered life now. But ever since we’ve had her, she’s had a history of recurrent ear infections. Not only that, the infections she gets are atypical; the buildup inside her ears is always flesh-toned, not dark. The first time this happened, the antibiotics given us didn’t work, and after going crazy trying to unsuccessfully find pictures on Google that matched the color inside this little gal’s ears, we phoned the vet, they swabbed her and found that she had a uncommon bacterial strain causing the infection, and gave us a specialized antibiotic. Worked great. But every six months or so, she gets another infection!
Any insights into what might be going on? And, could we treat this at home with something like onion juice, or would something else be better?
