StudentI am wondering if anyone has any resources that list the specific chemical compounds that are in herbs that they would recommend. For instance, Doc has said that Comfrey has Allantoin in it, but what else? I’m sure I could google each herb, but I wonder if anyone has specific books or websites that they trust for that information
Thanks!

StudentI have Carole Fisher’s Materia Medica of Western Herbs – it provides detailed characteristics with constituents, scientific information (from studies), uses, effects, drug interactions, etc. Lots of info.

StudentHave you gone to Thriftbooks.com? I’ve had some great finds there when price shopping. It’s a bummer that these books are usually expensive. I found Materia Medica for $47 and they also have one from Doc’s list of reference books, herbal-contraindications-and-drug-interactions-plus-herbal-adjuncts-with-medicines_francis-j-brinker, for $57. And you earn free books every now and then (under $7 but still, free 🙂
