After 43 years of teaching public school music and dreaming about having an herb garden, culinary and medicinal, I retired. Now I have time to indulge myself musically and herbally. :blob:

I started reading up on medicinal herbs. I joined the local chapter of the HSA-Ozark chapter. I started a garden with some common herbs that were passed along to me. I have a nice comfrey bed.

I wanted an organized way to learn about medicinal self-sufficiency using herbs and since I live in a teeny tiny rural town in north central Arkansas, that option wasn’t available. When I came across Doc via Marjory Wildcraft, I felt a kindred spirit. I explored his website and thought I’d like the course. I signed up this week. I am sure glad Doc videos his walks and such.

Here in the warmer time of year, groups of folks from here and from “off” gather outside in our downtown pickin’ park and play acoustic string music – mostly old time, bluegrass, country and some gospel. This takes away from gardening time, so I’m constantly pulled during warm weather ….. herbs music herbs music. Ah, what a joyful conundrum.

Now, I’ll have to add school to the herbs and the music, but that’s just fine!

Sorry, Doc. We don’t have many blues harp players here, so if you showed up, we’d sure let you play!

I’ve started staring at the weeds wherever I go…..I’m a changed woman.

        Next – a tincture press.

I look forward to learning from you all.

I think acoustic music and herbs are a wonderful combination. Both involve pickin’ so what could be bad?

One of these times, we’ll have to have an evening jam after one of our herb walks and have everybody bring their instruments. :0)

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

              That would be great.

              Pickin’ and grinnin’…….
