        Doc,

It’s my understanding that Salvia officinalis moves blood and helps circulation. Is this correct? And is it considered an alterative due to this quality? Whether I’m correct or incorrect would you please explain how the plant works with regard to blood?

Sage has some good effects on circulation. It has mild antispasmodic effects which can increase tissue perfusion. It also stimulates capillary growth (angiogenesis) and function which improves mirocirculation. It lowers serum cholesterol and serum glucose both of which could benefit circulation in the long game. It has lots of antioxidants too.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
