Hi all, I’m Terry from Pennsylvania.

I’m new to the he school but not to herbalism.

I have a 22 year old female client (family friend)

        She is diagnosed with Schizophrenia.

I’ve got her on St. John’s wort, lavender, lemon balm and ginkgo biloba

Mother Wott near her menstrual cycle (it curbs her violent mood swings)

        Valerian before bed.

All in all, I’ve got 90% of her issues under control with herbs, but she still hears voices. I don’t know what mechanism causes the voices. Any ideas. Not sure what else to try.

Diet and a healthy microbiome has shown to have incredible results with Schizophrenia. This might be an area to look into

Gut health is highly linked to schizophrenia. I would definitely do some work in that area.

That is wonderful to hear.  I just read the pdf on St John’s wort and it said it may cause schizophrenic to become manic.  ?

Here is an update to my schizophrenia case.

I’ve made everything into a tincture (for ease of administering) also added a tincture of turkey tail and lion’s mane mushrooms (double infusion)

This has been in effect for almost eight months. She reports that the “voices” have almost totally subsided, and if she starts experiencing them she just takes both tinctures and it usually helps.

I’m thinking the lions mane is actually doing the work, but I’m not going to mess with something that seems to be working.
