        Hi all,

I apologize if this isn’t the most appropriate place for this post, I’m just not quite sure where would be.

I make my own tinctures and I’ve considered the possibility of trying to start a small online tincture store on Etsy, or something of the like. I am curious if anyone here knows what the laws are around selling tinctures online, and if licenses of any kind are required. I am sure that there may be some issue with the alcohol content, but not sure where to find the right information. I live in Philadelphia, PA if that would be helpful re: state laws. I am also generally interested in learning about tricks of the trade. I appreciate any and all advice on this.

Most states don’t regard tinctures as “alcohol”. Check your state laws to be sure.

Make no claims of any kind. Use no medical terms of any kind. So, for example, you can have a “Stomach Formula” but not a “Stomachache Formula”. List all the ingredients.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

They want the ingredients Alphabetically and in order of quantity. For example:

            2 Burdock

            2 Oregon Grape

            1 Yellowdock

            .5 Yarrow

Would be listed as: Burdock, Oregon Grape, Yellow Dock, Yarrow
