I was wondering how long dried herbs retain their potency.

I have heard about 1 yr.  I dry mine, and then store them as whole as possible in a glass jar with an oxygen and moisture absorber.  I then vacuum seal them and place them in a cool, dark area.  It isn’t until I bring them out to use as a tea or in a tincture or in oil that I chop them up to increase the surface area.  This is just what I do after listening to many different opinions.

Yup. About a year for most things. Plantain is probably six months.

The herbs don’t “go bad”, they just lose some of their properties and strength.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
