Hi, I am a long distance runner and I often times get sore, tired muscles or little aches and pains that I would like to make a lotion for. Would joint support powder or Muscles-NoMoSpazma powder be better for a topical lotion.  Thank you!

I am thinking a spray would be absorbed better and faster.  Let’s see what Doc has to say.

I am not a runner, but I am forced to sleep barely on the edge of the bed, with my dog wedged tightly up against me, which causes me to feel very stiff and sore in the mornings.  I am loving the No Mo Spazms!  The other day, I tweaked a muscle in my back (operator error, wasn’t doing anything at all strenuous, lol), and I really struggled to pick up after my dog.  But a combination of No Mo Spazms and my own anti-inflammatory blend had me feeling lots better the next day, and back to normal the day after that!  (Man, I LOVE herbal medicine!  I hardly ever eat Ibuprofen for breakfast anymore, lol.)

How do you take the No Mo Spazms? Tincture, Tea, Pill, etc

Megan, I take it as a tincture.  Just 1/2 (that’s one half) a teaspoon under my tongue does the trick nicely.  🙂

Michelle – what is your special anti-inflammatory blend?

Sharon, it isn’t complete yet, since two of the plants I really want for it live out in the desert, and I currently live on the beach, lol.  But what I have put together so far is Turmeric, Ginger, Dandelion Root, Garlic, and just a hint of cayenne.  I put a 1/2 tsp of that in a shot glass with four or five freshly ground black peppercorns (I used a mortar & pestle), top it off with water, and down the hatch.  😉  The other two herbs I want are yucca root and snakebroom.  Please don’t ask me the exact amounts of each/recipe; I’m still tweaking and making adjustments, so I honestly don’t know.  I only know it is helping, in conjunction with the HGH No Mo Spazms, and my Green Tonic.  *I actually ordered some yucca root online, but a package thief got to it before I did, so I haven’t dared order anything else.  🙁

So sorry to hear that your valuable roots were stolen.  I can only imagine the supreme disappointment the thief felt – too bad remorse didn’t accompany it so you could get it back.  But then, thieves rarely exhibit kindness!  Please keep us updated on the formula as you tweak it?  Thanks for the willingness to share.

Sharon, lol- yeah, I was pretty upset – enough to give me some anxiety about it (like the sky is falling type of anxiety!)  🙁  My only consolation was imagining the disappointment of the thief, especially considering most of the thieves here are either looking for drugs, or things they can trade for drugs, lol.  Oh well.  And sure – once I get my formula just the way I want it, I’ll let you know.  😉

Michelle – have you figured out a way to keep your packages safe?  You might require a signature, and that would keep the driver from just leaving it for thieves.  How is your remedy going?  Where did you buy your yucca root from and was it nice and fresh (seemingly)?

Michelle, I think I have figured out how to deal with the stolen packages issue (for reasons different from yours, but nonetheless same effective method I believe).  I’m not 100% sure it will work for you if you don’t have a PO Box, but you can ask at the post office.  I have some of my packages delivered to my name, local post office street address, with my box number after their address.  It has solved my delivery issues!

So on to the recipe – have you been able to replace your herbs and make the recipe by now?  I’m tired of my hips and shoulders waking me in the middle of the night because of something I ate and the inflammation settling in my joints.  I’ve been using Joint Support, but sadly, it’s not kicking the problem…

Hi Sharon!  Thanks, I’ve since left that address/building/city!  I’ve actually been working off-grid in the wilderness for the past five months.  I don’t know if porch pirates are a problem at my current address or not, I’m sure I will find out, especially as the holidays are upon us, lol.  As to your question, because I was working in the wilderness, I haven’t been able to do much with herbs.  I am hoping to work on my apothecary during the winter, before I go to my next summer gig.

Happy tincturing and enjoying the peace and quiet off grid!  Look forward to your recipe when it’s done.  My joints simply don’t want me to eat anything other than meat and veggies – but I am not a happy camper with such limitations.  So something that might deal with the joint pains would be a welcome option!  Have a truly blessed Christ-mas!

Either could be made into a lotion but a tincture would work faster and be easier to make, more shelf stable and more portable. Get a spray top for you tincture bottle and spray it on. We have spray tops for tincture bottles on the site.

Hops is one of my favorites too. Be aware that the Joint Support is usually used internally but that it does work well topically too. That said, the turmeric in Joint support stains everything yellow.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
