StudentHi Y’all! As I’ve mentioned in a couple of other recent posts, I am about to embark on an epic wilderness lifestyle, preceded by an equally epic journey cross-country, from Norfolk, Virginia, to St. George, Utah. I plan to take a southerly route, from Charlottesville, Va, down the Blue Ridge Parkway, and from the Smoky Mountain National Park, take I-40 to Arizona (it’s not written in stone, but thinking I’ll go up through Flagstaff, so I can camp in the Coconino National Forest). Anyway, I plan to be (tent/car) camping in the National Forests, and State Parks along the way, trying to avoid staying in large cities, and avoid hotels. I am thinking it would be really cool to start a You Tube channel (“The Wandering Herbalist”), visiting homesteaders who want to show off their medicinal gardens, whether they be cultivated, or just “weedy yards.” Anyway, if you live along my intended route, and would like to show off your medicinal weeds & cultivars on You Tube, please message me. At the time of writing this post, I intend to start my journey in June, taking at least three weeks to get across the country, and reporting to my new job by July 1. I have a dog with me, and I’m camping, so that’s why I need to go so slowly -because setting up camp in the dark is hard, lol. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

StudentI live at the northeastern tip of South Carolina. If that’s not out of your way, contact me and it might work out depending on the timing!

Homestead InstructorAre you going to be living in St. George then? I haven’t done a plant walk/seminar down there since Covid. It’s probably time I did.

StudentTopic AuthorHey Doc, pretty much, yes. (I have family in the area). I will actually be nomadic, camping a lot, but keeping St. George as my “home base.” And yes, you do need to get down there – my mom would love to be able to attend one of your classes in person!
