StudentHello beautiful people. I’m looking for any and all input I can get on people’s experiences using Spanish Needle Bidens Alba/Bidens Pilosa.  I originally created a tincture with this weed (herb) based on Stephen Harrod Buhner’s amazing book Herbal Antibiotics. This is considered an excellent antibiotic for all things mucosa. Considering the mucosa starts in our extends to our anus I thought it would be handy to have. As often happens in herbalism this started a fascinating journey. I have had significant symptom improvement in: 1. UTI, 2. Kidney stone pain management, 3. Auto immune symptoms including rashes and ‘fuzzy brains”, 4. Incapacitating back pain. The best theory I can come up with at this time is that besides being an incredible nutraceutical it’s also a powerful anti-inflammatory. Hopefully there are a few other folks out there who have been experimenting with this weed. I look forward to input from anyone who has experience with this.

I haven’t used it but it certainly has a long history of use in most warm places on the planet. The chemistry looks really good for malaria and a dozen other things.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

StudentTopic AuthorI’m not good at keeping up with social media type things but wanted to update a bit what I call the Spanish Needle community project. There are at least 8-10 individuals (also not good at record keeping) now making their own herbal medicine. A couple of examples of positive impacts:
Fibromyalgia/IBS: This gal has a terrible problem with both of these auto-immune issues. She drinks about 64 ounces of Spanish Needle daily. Her feedback “my gut, my brain and my day to day pain are better, my body tells me when it’s time to start drinking the tea each day”
Dermatomyositis: An auto-immune disorder of the skin and muscles. This is a dear friend of mine, the tops of her hands and feet were missing the skin, she had extreme photo sensitivity. Worst yet this highly intelligent woman’s brain was flat out shutting down. It was awful to be having a conversation with her and suddenly she was gone. Needless to say, she was incredibly scared. Prior to her diagnosis we started her on Spanish Needle thinking she had chronic lyme disease. 1 dropperful of the tincture daily and in 2 weeks her feet and hands were down to just a few lesions. I suggested she increase it to 2 droppers full daily. Within a month her brain was back. To say this is amazing is an understatement. Meanwhile her journey to a diagnosis involved 5 different doctors and many miles of travel. Aside from the addition of a blood pressure medication the only change in her medical regimen has been the Spanish Needle. The absolutely wonderful bit is none of the 5 doctors told her to stop taking the tincture. This is huge progress, there was a time when doctors automatically said herbs don’t work, stop taking them.
Rosacea/Candidia: This individual showed up at my house in desperation. Her face was absolutely on fire. She started the Spanish Needle and one could watch the changes happen over the next few weeks (2 weeks seems to be the magic time when people start to notice improvements). Life got busy and she stopped taking it. Her face fired up again, she restarted the tincture and her beautiful complexion is remerging. I’m on the fence about the candida issue as alcohol is not beneficial for this issue. Time will tell.
There’s a lot more context to all of this but I’m trying to get the word out on this wonderful herb. It’s very common in many parts so the U.S. and easily accessible.
