My brother in-law has been hospitalized for a staph infection on his leg. He’s been told not to ask when he’s going home because it will be a while. He has a wound almost completely covering his leg below his knee. When I search for staph in the forum I don’t see any cases quite so severe, so I just want to double check on the appropriate poultice recommendation and also want to ask if anyone has any suggestions for approaching the medical team. I’m assuming since he’s already on IV meds a poultice or topical spray is the only option.  Ifxn- bugbuster? Or poultice formula? I am more familiar with the herbs in the poultice formula and have seen amazing results healing infections with salves that have combinations of the same herbs, but obviously not anything quite so severe.

I would check out the wound management classes, but I do recall St John’s Wort is particularly effective for what you want. On the Individual Plant Lesson for it, Doc says “This plant also has excellent antibacterial and antiviral properties. It is particularly effective against gram positive bacteria like Streptococcus and Staphylococcus (even MRSA infections). It can be used internally and topically.”

I’ve used the BugBuster formula internally and topically as well as the Immunity Support internally on a number of cases with good success. I do the topical application every 3-4 hours and the internals three times a day.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
