        I need some ideas on the best options for stimulating saliva (sialagogues).  Will be using for a sjogrens case.  Extreme dry mouth leading g to other problems.  Cayenne may not be appropriate on this case.

          I’m new in this group.  I have a story:

          We were wild crafting Prickly Ash.  The berries were so pretty that we tasted them.  Instant salivation  (and numbness!) with this bitter fruit.  I wonder if there is a way to harness that effect?

            So these are what I have in my lists as sialagogues: Black Pepper, Cayanne Pepper, Echinacea, Ginger, Licorice, Yerba Santa

            However, if it’s for sjogrens, I would be wary of using something like Echinacea as it might make the problem worse, since it would be enhancing the body’s autoimmune system

              It could be that a Leaky gut protocol might decrease the inflammation of the Sjogrens. Have a look at this lesson:

              Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
