StudentHey y’all,
I just had to share how I was able to use the info I’ve learned here.
I was sick with a stomach problem from the international travel a family member had done. Not only that, we were going to a camp meeting where I would have to present 3 classes. So I decided to take things to stimulate my immune system. About 30 minutes later I was feeling quite awful. My lungs started feeling heavy and full of fluid. At first I didn’t mention it. I thought it was strange as I had a stomach flu with no lung symptoms. Pretty soon I was thinking about each breath. I could exchange air okay but my lungs felt heavy. Then I remembered that our immune system can over react. So I sent my brother to get some wild grape leaves (muscadines leaves for you southerners). I started chewing them down. Three minutes later I had forgot about my lung problem and instead was arguing the specs of how our immune system works with my brothers!!! It was 50% gone. Fast forward an hour or so and the whole thing was gone. I couldn’t believe how fast it worked. If I hadn’t learned from this course, I wouldn’t have known why my lungs started feeling awful nor what to do about it! So grateful for the learning I’ve done here.

StudentWow! Thanks for sharing that! So the wild grape leaves stop the over action of the immune system?
I’m still in learning the lingo lesson, but learned about cramp bark in the antispasmatic slide and remembered when my stomach was cramping up. Worked wonders pretty fast! Also, hops tincture helped my tension headache.
So much wonderful info already. Looking forward to continuing my lessons!

StudentTopic AuthorYes! It was like a milk cytokine storm (Supposedly we had covid and the cytokine storms seem to be more common with that). Thanks for those herbal ideas!

Homestead InstructorHave a look in the Respiratory system II lesson where it talks about cytokine storms. Slide 46.

Homestead InstructorGreat work Elena. It’s amazing what kind of mess a few leaves can get us out of if we know which one to grab. :0)
