Do all the wormwoods work the same? I am having trouble finding sweet wormwood to buy. I would like to use it for my chickens for coccdiosis. Help please. Thank you

          Hi Mary!

I was able to buy some seed from Strictly Medicinal.  They sprouted great and quickly.  I grew it last year and it was super easy.  I hope this helps!

            Hi Mary,

I grew mugwort which is also known as wormwood last year and I purchased seeds from Strictly Medicinal Seeds.  My plant grew about 2 feet tall in one year so make sure you grow it where it can get tall and spread!  It really likes sun- at least mine does!  🙂  You can also buy seeds from Baker Creek Seed Company or Esty.  Both are great places to start looking for medicinal seeds!

Sweet Annie is the only annual in the artemisia family.

Richter’s Herbs, Annapolis Seeds & Incredible seed Co are three Canadian sources of seed.
              Happy planting.

I bought powdered wormwood  to use for another reason then I found out I was supposed to get the sweet wormwood. What I got was artemisia absinthium. I was wondering if it has enough of the same properties to be able to use it the same way? Will it kill the coccidiosis? like sweet wormwood

Not all Artemisia are created equal, but wormwood (Artemisia abysinthum) can kill coccidia too.

Sweet wormwood is better for some of the other antiviral viruses and protozoans.
