I’m hoping Doc Jones can help with this, or anyone else that knows for sure.  I’ve been doing more digging into the sweet wormwood plant after going through the module, and as cold and flu season is kicking in.  I’m wondering about the thujone toxicity that can be present in the wormwood plants.  Is that only in the fresh plant material? Does it go away after it’s dried? Thanks in advance!

Thujone doesn’t go away with drying.

Thujone levels in Artemisia annua are lower than in other Artemisia species. Artemisia absinthium has much higher levels.

Risk of toxicity is low for either if used at medicinal doses short term. It’s much lower for A. annua.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
